      @Poppin:

      My urges to pop my joints are typically consistent unless I'm anxious.

      My urge to pop increases when I'm anxious definitely.

    • RE: The sacrum.

      @Icrackmyselfup:

      I actually crack my sacrum around 2-5 times a day, depending on if it needs it. I usually need to crack it every time I stand up after sitting for long periods of time, otherwise it feels like something is stuck there. What I do is when I stand, I stand feet together. Then with my pelvic and gluteal muscles I squeeze and push my hips forward and that usually cracks it. It feels so good.

      Aloha! Avid joint cracker here! I'm glad I came across this forum! I've been a crack addict for quite some time lol. I crack my knuckles, toes, ankles, upper back, shoulders, and my personal favorite, my sternum. I used to be able to crack my neck, but ever since I had an injury that stopped.

      Anyways, glad to meet ya'll!

      Mahalo!

      Hi! That's interesting that you used to be able to crack your neck but can't now. What injury did you have?

      I'm the opposite - an injury caused my neck to start cracking lol

    • RE: Avid popper!

      @Poppin:

      I pop everything! So I'm glad I've found a place to talk to others about it. One of my earliest memories is talking to a hospice nurse. I was sitting in my neighbor's floor popping my toes. My mother was caring for the neighbor and the nurse was visiting. The nurse said to me while my mother was out of the room that popping joints causes severe arthritis. I knew I had been popping my joints for as long as I could remember and sometimes they would pop accidentally. I asked her if that still counts. She said, "not really. Just try not to pop them." And inside my child brain, I made the decision then and there that she was lying and I would never give up popping my joints. I'm nineteen now. That's enough about me! 🙂 Please feel free to introduce yourself.

      Which of your joints pop involuntarily? My neck does really often it's so annoying

    • RE: Base Thumb Joint

      @Poppin:

      I frequently pop the joint which serves as a junction between my thumbs and wrists. Does anyone else do this? I do it by putting my index finger on the inside of the middle joint of the opposite thumb. Then I put my thumb on the joint by my wrist and press. It is a very loud and clear pop.

      Nope, does it feel good?

    • RE: Dead Bodies?

      @jpad:

      So my husband just started watching Six Feet Under, which led me on a weird train of thought. Do you suppose it's possible for a corpse's joints to crack? Don't worry, I'm not planning on getting anywhere near dead bodies. It was just a random strange thought.

      I'm not sure! What do you think?

    • RE: Experiences with Physios and Chiropractors

      @jtkalehua:

      I've been to the Chiropractor a few times. I used to go on a regular basis when I first got injured. But I dunno, here in the US, Chiropractic is a pretty controversial topic. It seems to me that all Chiropractors are is just a professional joint cracker. No matter which Chiropractor I went to, they all did the same thing. The adjustments all consisted of the same techniques. The would start with my thoracic spine, then have me lay on my side and crack my lumbar. Then cracked my neck. And if you watch any of the countless videos on youtube of adjustments, you'll see they're all the same.

      Do you feel it helped you at all?

      You've got access to Google, right?

      Are you on this forum purely to wind people up? Yes I have access to Google.

      Nope, just you. I can't figure out what your problem is. Over and over again you ask all these inane questions expecting someone else to do the work and answer them for you, instead of taking responsibility and looking it up yourself. You also keep asking how to increase membership on the forums, without taking responsibility for the fact that you've single-handedly driven most of the old members away under your various former screen names. How many are you up to now? DJ100, Bod8, neckcracker12, and I'm guessing the cleverly disguised neckcracker1234. Any more you'd care to share?

      They are all my old accounts except neckcracker1234 that's not me.

    • RE: Jointcaracking addiction and chronic neck pain

      @neckcracker1234:

      Hi,
      I've been able to crack my neck for the last 6 months (maybe even more, quite hard to remember when I started it).
      I haven't mentioned it but the cracks aren't involuntarily, I've just became so addicted to it that it is really hard to stop with it.
      And maybe it is a product of working too hard, meanwhile I stoped working in gym, just in order to isulate potential causes, but I don't think that this is the cause.

      Interesting.

      How about if you try to go a day without cracking? Do you just get a strong urge to do it that you can't stop yourself from doing it?

    • RE: Jointcaracking addiction and chronic neck pain

      @neckcracker1234:

      Hi,
      I am 24 year old male, doing lot of sport (running,swiming,GYM) and never had any neck injuries.

      Recently (at the past 6 months) I startred cracking my upper neck. Today I feel that I've became really addicted to it and stoping with this rotine is very hard for me.
      The reason I decided to stop with it is beacuse I'm feeleing some chronic pain in the upper neck, this pain stops when i'm cracking but appears 20-30 minutes later on. This is really annoying and I believe it indicate some serious problem that I've caused with this addiction.
      It should be noted to that I work out in gym (maybe it can be related).

      Do you have any ideas or suggestions about I can I treat it?

      Thanks a lot.

      Hi, welcome to the forum!

      How long have you been able to crack your neck for?

      Does it crack involuntarily ever or just when you mean to crack it? In my experience I have suffered a neck injury when I got punched in the neck for no reason at school and I get involuntary cracks and strange noises in my neck all the time.

      Could it be you have worked out too hard? I don't know it's just an idea?
