    • RE: Pain

yeah various joints..osteoarthritis and fractures, now hypermobility. Went through therapy etc…even shots in the back before the last therapy. No go..greatest release I got from that pain is a chiropractor that doesn't crack your back. They have different ways of putting joints back where they belong without the cracking. Cracking releases the pressure then causes more inflamation. If you have any type of arthritis this is very bad..roflol..don't do it if possible. It will do so on its own.

Epson or dead sea salt soaks up to three times daily for twenty minutes helps with the pain, etc..as well as different topicals etc..MSM, chondrontrin, and Glucosamine help a lot of others but not all. There are so many things you can try to help. Just depends on what your open to.

Topicals that can help range below I have tried:

Tiger Balm - mild arthritis pain

      Capiscum- mild to moderate pain

024 pain reliever by swiss medica- moderate to severe pain

Mommy's liniment - good product- moderate pain

a lot of these linaments/ointments are essential oils, herbs that are strong so if you have an allergy be careful what you use. Make sure you wash your hands afterwards before touching your face. Or use gloves..

Do I know it all rofl..oh heck no but have been working with my own since.1998 and these are my trials and errors I learned from.

    • RE: Cracking knees

lucky you I got the inherited cracking when walking..along with the snaps. Bending that one got worse with the knee injuries. And if you have those you can count on noisy knees ..lol..

three knee surgeries later speaking here.

    • RE: Automatic clicking = annoying!

personally don't find it pleasurable at all. About the only time it is if it does it on accident and then there is the momentary pain followed by release of pressure from the joint that was locking up. Which is usually when it goes from clicking to popping.

Whether due to swelling which is very common with mine, or hypermobility causing it to shift and get stuck.

Well I have this problem with many of my joints..mostly caused from osteoarthritis and hypermobility. been through the mill on this and have gone through the thorough tests etc to find solutions to what is going on. Nice to see a site that people can go to. Up til now I have been going through the doctors and therapists.

    • RE: How can you treat joints that click automatically?

depends on the joint we are talking about I have severe TMJ to the point that they feel surgery will probably not do me any good. One of the less likely candidates at this point in time. My jaw pops, clicks and then shifts and gets stuck. Do physical therapy every summer to keep the ligaments strengthened to help support the joints. Have the same thing with my back and neck. Osteoarthritis over fractured vertebrae that went untreated. Not an easy solution. Just try and keep the ligaments as strong as you can and it is constant upkeep. Will it make it stop? Nope but does help with the pain, pressure and overall mobility.
