      I never really could do my back right until reading stuff on this site either.

    • RE: HeLLo!!!

      @Thumbelina:

      Hi everyone. I'm addicted to cracking! I have to crack my fingers, wrists, toes, back, neck and hips. I'm "double jointed" in my thumbs and they ache if I don't crack them. Recently my right thumb has been really sore at the knuckle ( I think it would be the second) and I can only crack it 2 times instead of the usual 3. I also can't bend it as much. Any idea what this could be? :?:

      Not sure, but I think I've had similar things happen. Sore for a couple of weeks, then goes back to normal eventually for some reason.

      I can do 5 pretty easily on all fingers, and come very, very close to doing 4 as well.

      I'm not sure what could have happened, but even if it doesn't hurt it might help to get it looked at.

    • RE: Cracking knees

      For me, I can just put all my weight on each knee on the floor and each will crack, especially if I have been sitting for a while.

      Funny thing with me is that I rarely crack anything for relief from pain. It still feels good though.

    • RE: Extreme cracking sesssions

      Great techniques there.

      Too bad some of the lesser popped joints by people (like the hip and shoulder) aren't as easy to do as the fingers and back.

      Yes, you definitely should go to the doctor if it continues to hurt. I also would stop cracking that joint even if it does stop hurting.

    • RE: Hearing the crack noise

      @JCEnthusiast:

      Can you hear it when you crack underwater? I don't know what you mean.

      I know that when I flex my toes underwater, they snap really loud, and I love it!

      I meant it can be hard to hear cracking when the joints are underwater, like when swimming.

    • RE: Help with cracking

      @ss:

      Hey everyone. Im new here and was hoping for some advice.
      I am constantly cracking fingers, toes, and ankles but I am ALWAYS having back pain and discomfort and would love to know the best ways to crack…mostly its my upper back between my shoulder blades but I love the feeling when someone else cracks my back...I'd love to be able to do it on my own. Also whats the best way you find to crack your neck? When I try to do it by looking sideways it hurts and twisting my neck doesnt produce a crack. Helpful suggestions would be awesome 🙂

      I don't have any suggestions for cracking that part of your back, but I know that there are some posts on this site that do.

      As for your neck, just because what you do doesn't produce a crack now doesn't mean it never will. My neck didn't used to crack at all but now it does rather consistently.

      Definitely my big toe, when I crack it sideways

      ah yes

      My big toes crack sideways as well, although my right one now will occasionally crack like the other toes.

    • RE: Life long knuckle cracker

      @BigFire:

      if they 'think' there is something wrong with cracking, then why do they need others to tell them either way…be strong...if they think there is a problem, maybe there is a problem.

      My opinion is that it's better to ask people that know something about cracking than other people that may not know much about it.

      So what's wrong with people asking those questions? I think most people who don't even have problems with cracking have wondered if it was hurting them at some point.

    • RE: Cracking knees

      Sometimes after sitting on the ground or something for a while, if I put my weight on my knees that will give a pretty satisfying crack. I've actually done that for about as long as my knuckles, but I'm not usually in a position to do my knees all the time.

      Yes i am afraid of damage is it bad for you? I love the back and O*G jaw and back

      So how do you do your jaw? I've never been able to do anything with it.

      it just starts suddenly when you're eating or chewing something…

      or try opening your mouth really wide, but dont blame me if you do any damage... i've always considered jaw to be quite dangerous!!!!!

      Which is why I'm not going to try to hard, especially since I've had minor TMJ problems in the past.

      yeah definitely dont then!!!
      just out of interest, what is TMJ, and how did you get diagnosed with it?
      (i've heard of it, dont know what it is though)

      Never been officially diagnosed, but I know my dad has had TMJ problems in the past, and said that what I was experiencing was similar.

      A good place to find info on TMJ is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temporomandibular_joint_disorder

      @AquaLiz:

      Not to me… but I really hate when I'm around someone who absolutely can't stand the sound...and then they yell at me for doing it. And I have to explain YET AGAIN that I can't help it...cause a lot of my cracking (fingers) is habitual and almost involunatary. I don't actually know I'm doing it anymore. lol

      But I personally love cracking... it's so addicting haha.

      It is addictive, and i do get annoyed when people crack their fingers

      It still amazes me that you don't crack your fingers, yet crack other joints.

      well i never used to crack anyway until the bully at school punched me in the neck, ever since then i have cracked my neck only.

      Yeah, I know. It's just that most people who crack seem to at least do their knuckles.
