      That sounds awesome! The other day I had a pretty similar experience. I woke up, and immediately my neck felt stiff and sore, and I couldn't really move it towards my left hand side.

      I tried heat, ice, massage: nothing worked, and it was really getting me down. I then, at the end of my tether, decided to crack it.

      I cupped my chin with my left hand and grabbed the hair on the back of my head with my right.

      I pulled it, much harder than I usually do, and got 7 really deep cracks, all the way from the base of my neck to the tip. They started off as big clunks, and progressed to smaller and smaller high pitched pops up the neck. It felt incredible! My neck was then fine for the rest of the day 🙂

      @Patudo:

      Sadly I too have lost a good deal of my neck-cracking ability. I think if you can stand a course of cold turkey treatment part of it comes back, but I suspect some of my ligaments have permanently stretched. I started out being able to crack pretty much my entire neck with just sideways twists/rotations of my head, progressed to needing to twist or pull my head around manually and now even that only works at certain specific times. Uuuurgh.

      Man can't you be happy that your cracks are going, I honestly do not understand how people like their neck cracking, its ridiculous, dont you ever get annoyed at it?
      And there is a new member on here who has exactly the same problem as me

      Rebuild the joints ligaments? Unnatural Hypermobility?
      Your saying: be less mobile w the joint so the ligament becomes LESS flexible and more stiff.
      That would seem counter productive and a recipe for injury:

      when a stiff or tight ligament is pushed past its normal ROM it will sprain and inflame and Hurt.

      Increased ROM/mobility is a good thing.

      Hyperflexability is a good thing
      Joints can be hyperflexible and strong
      STRONGER even
      Not mobilizing joints will make them weak and tight and injury prone.

      The video is indeed interesting. However, I do not agree this level of hypermobility is healthy.

      I did not mean that you should aim for stiff joints, which is clearly unhealthy, too. "Hypermobility" by its very name implies the mobility is "above" normal. I would thus personally aim for "normal" mobility.
      Last time I checked hypermobile joints are not healthy, also see What Are Hypermobile Joints?
