    • RE: Loudest joint?

My loudest cracks are the knuckles in my left hand when I push my fingers downwards. It's strange though, because the loudest ones aren't necessarily the ones that feel the nicest. My mini snaps on the middle joint of the fingers are quiet, but feel good 🙂

    • Hyperflexibility

Is anyone hyperflexible in any joints? My index finger knuckle is after years of cracking. I can make it meet my palm.

    • RE: Back

I think back cracking is usually the ligaments snapping over the bone or something like that. It is pretty risky if you do it excessively. I sometimes do it, I twist my back so it cracks all the way up.

    • RE: Damage

Nothing's confirmed on that, I think I got it from someone in a forum, but it does make sense.

As you know, I can snap my finger repeatedly, so I do crack pretty much all the time but I'm trying to cut down (at least on my index) because it annoys people and it becomes really stiff when I do it too much.

It's a shame that the one which feels the nicest does the most damage.

Yes, I think something about warm water does do that.

    • Damage

What damage does joint cracking inflict? I have heard that pulling on the finger does little to no damage, whereas pushing the finger down towards the palm (which is what I do) does the most. I can see that, as my knuckle is swollen.

      Yeah, and I'm a girl. 😄

Which way do you crack your knuckles? I push my middle ones backwards and my index finger on my left hand forwards.

I am able to snap my index finger repeatedly. This involves pushing downwards and to the side, making it snap. I don't need to wait for it to be recracked. This, with the normal cracking has made my finger very flexible, and I can push it down to reach the palm of my hand. I think the joint has got a little swollen as well. 8O

Yes, it relaxes the muscle and stimulates the nerve endings.
