My wrist has been hurting me.

For the past 4 month my wrist has been killing me. It first started when I went snowboarding back in December of 2017, I was falling backwards and placed my hand down to stop my self but ended up placing my hand down wrong. At least once a day I have to crack my wrist using my right hand otherwise it starts to kill me. Even when I go to the gym, my wrist starts to hurt if I use it in the wrong way. I have been debating on getting my wrist checked out but would like a second opinion, any suggestions on what it may be?
