Jaw cracking after braces?

I had braces for about 2 years in high school, and after I got them taken off, I noticed that my jaw cracked whenever I open my mouth wide enough. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

just the neck for me but it's very uncomfortable and erratic and i'd prefer to not discuss the specifics because being punched in the neck 15 years ago was very traumatic for me
