1: Boredom - it is something to do and wastes like a few seconds doing it.
2: Nervous reaction - for all types
3: Pleasure - Because you enjoy the release
4: Relief - to get rid of the stiffness in my fingers
This was all when i did jointcrack and i still do 2 regardless.
All the others i still do for my neck and back sometimes.
